AS/NZ 3733:1995 - Section 2 Guidelines on carpet maintenance

“Only hot water injection and extraction methods have so far been demonstrated to be effective in leaving minimal residues in carpet.”

· Steam extraction or hot water extraction  “a deep cleaning system with a brush to lift pile making your carpet new and fresh again”

· It is recommended to clean your carpets every one-two years or if the carpet is dirty.

· Regular stain removal prevents premature aging of carpet.

· Regular vacuuming of carpet with a brush vacuum will help stop dirt build up.

· Never rub carpet  when removing stains. Check the links on stain removal page for advice from manufacture.

After ten years of use with a dog kept inside this carpet contains mostly faeces. “You wouldn't want your baby crawling around on that.”

After one year of use the pile is flattened and dirt starts to build up, even with a shoes off policy.
